Malgorzata Buterwick, Poland
I did my first live art piece in October 2003, and since then have realized over 30 actions - in Poland, Spain, Sweden, Quebec/Canada, Japan and Mexico. They include performances, sight specific/street actions as well as an experimental 9-month project ´9 and ½ Fridays´.
I live in Krakow, Poland, since 2003. I am a member of the Fort Sztuki Association (www.fortsztuki.art.pl ) and of its art magazine editing team, and write about actual art for various publications. I co-run together with Angel Pastor an independent art space Mostowa2 (www.mostowa2.net ).
The previous 8 years I spent in England and Northern Ireland where, while working at Flaxart studios in Belfast, I ´found´ performance art… In 2000 I co-found and for the next 3 years co-run in Belfast an independent art organization Bbeyond. Its aim is to organize life art events based on international exchange.
Before, I studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, Poland, where I received MA in Art and Design.
